I have always used SWOT to help me organise, helped me to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats related to business, competition and project planning.
By doing the situational assessment/analysis have always found a way to solve the issues at hand be it a kitchen operations, Front of the house, marketing, training, financial systems
I do go in a lot of depth analysing my restaurant and as a business owner on a micro level of it’s strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats.
And come up with projects to systematically find new solutions to our current problems
Strengths
Food out time, Dining experience, our service, Reputation, Branding, Price point
Menu offerings, Online presence, Marketing strategy, Training system
Hiring training and termination system, Communicate daily 10 at10
Finances/ books, Labour percentage, Food cost, Core management team
Your location and easy access visibility
The dining options, Pick up delivery, Business relationships
HR systems, Our unique selling proposition, Hours of operations
Decor and ambiance, Diet options in my menu, Gluten free, Vegan, These are our strengths and weaknesses of our business
Threats
What are 20% threats out that can have 80% damage impact! And what can you do proactively to reduce this impact!
For instance another café opening near by! So it is critical for me to be able to continue to be in contact directly with our customers so we can make offers we can build relationships directly with them by introducing simple thing like Crumpets month with 12 unusual topping you would never try at home!
This has a chance of illuminating those not coming back this month
Always having Facebook and google ads ready and opportunities where I am capturing peoples information whether it’s there or email or phone number or there are enrolling in our messenger bot Any threats relating to business can be solved if you dive into deep.
Opportunities
we know that people have issues with carbs and all kind of allergens 14 is minimum UK slandered but one can open doors to more diners by offering create you own section
This is a great opportunity for me is to and my team to be more creative
Again there is an opportunity to reach a new demographic people who are into keto diet by offering simple choose and make you own menu will bring them in and stay with us
This business is scalable and growth is optionable based your ambitions. In my case would love to get three to five restaurants/Cafe/WineBar/Salsabar/Event catering unit and so on with right investor or partners
Weaknesses
Most of time the weaknesses I found it to be that I have not been able to duplicate myself I can’t be involved in every bit of operations unless and help on going in the world are short staffed but this is where I am good at developing people
Another weakness is I have been always been working alone and heavily reliant on my team Although they are phenomenal but it would be great help to have an partner
In the future and consider is to do a swot analysis on a micro level together
